With walls dating back to the 11th century, the building is steeped in history, which has been exposed and made visible. Following careful renovation, it now exudes a sense of calm and modernity. Nothing is loud or obtrusive. References to Mozart's most popular opera, The Magic Flute, are noticeable but subtle. Feather structures, curves, plant motifs. Overall, the eponymous protagonist creates more atmosphere than being the main theme. You walk in and immediately feel that you are in the right place. This is exactly where GAIA LOUNGE and LUNAR LIGHT come in. The furniture does not dominate the room, it holds it together. GAIA LOUNGE appears soft and open, almost like an invitation to let yourself go.

LUNAR LIGHT complements this atmosphere with a clearer, more urban attitude. The round seat shell feels natural, stable and precise without appearing austere. LUNAR LIGHT fits in where movement occurs, where people turn to each other, where conversations flow into one another. It is present but not dominant, a chair that participates while remaining pleasantly in the background.
Patrick Stier's cuisine follows the same logic. It is deeply rooted in craftsmanship, thinks classically, but remains open to new ideas. The dishes are concentrated, clear in flavour and often surprising, without seeking to impress. You can tell that the person cooking here knows where they come from and yet remains curious.
In the end, it is precisely this interplay that makes an evening at Papageno so special. You sit comfortably and eat attentively. GAIA LOUNGE and LUNAR LIGHT are part of this experience, not as a statement, but as reliable companions. Perhaps that is the greatest quality of this place. You don't leave with the feeling of having consumed something, but of having experienced something. And as soon as you get up, you know you want to come back.
